TOUR DESCRIPTION:

Travel from the Belize City docks to the western limits of Belize to Windy Hills Resort in San 
Ignacio.  At Windy Hills the group is taken to the Maya Village of San Jose Succotz, at this 
point your are given your tubes and briefed on safety precautions while on the river.  Let 
the gentle currents of the Mopan River float you downstream from the Maya Village of 
San Jose Succotz to the Village of Calla Creek.  Get an up-close and personal glimpse of 
the lifestyle of the village people living along the river - a truly refreshing and interesting 
experience.  Once at the Calla Creek station, lunch is served. After lunch you are outfitted 
for your horseback riding adventure.  Rainforest trails take you to the early 8th century Maya 
site of Buena Vista researched in the 1980’s. This site is believed to have been the private 
residence of K’ul Ahau K’ak Til (Lord Smoke Squirrel).  The trails then meanders back to Windy 
Hills Resort where you board your motor coach for transfer back to Belize City in time for you 
to board the ship.
