TOUR DESCRIPTION:

Cabin fever? A half-day get away is for you! A tender transfer into Belize City will be 
the start of your tour of the Wonderful Wildlife Habitat (the Belize Zoo) created as 
a sanctuary for the country's indigenous species.  The Belize Zoo was first created for 
animals which were injured or donated to the facility and could not be returned to the 
wild.  This is home for an impressive array of Large Cats, Primates, Reptiles and Birds, 
which gives you the opportunity of viewing Belize's prolific wildlife in one location.  
Then it's on to see the “city sights.”  
Belize City today remains the commercial capital of the country and is home to about 
75,000 people.  The Colonial Governor's Mansion, Redbrick St. John's Cathedral and the 
Supreme Court buildings, flanked by cannons used in the “Battle of St. George's Caye” 
in 1798, are only a few of the sites left over from our Colonial past.  Note the Colonial 
wooden architecture that is evident throughout many of the city's buildings.  Your guide 
will provide an interesting reflection of the city's history. The tour ends at the Belize Tourism 
Village for complimentary refreshments, entertainment and shopping (discount coupons 
provided) before returning to the dock for transfer to the ship.
